No matter how you word a Constitution, somebody will find a way of interpreting it to escape from that wording. As you well know, the judges tend to reflect the political views of the people who have appointed them. The only way that you are going to preserve your freedom is by going to the people and getting their permission for the laws -- mainly and primarily not because they are wiser or understand better, but because they are the ones who pay the price.
